DAILY PROMISE: God cares for those suffering and in distress

Psalm 34:17-18 emphasizes God's care for those who are suffering and in distress. It highlights that the righteous cry out to the Lord and He hears them, delivering them from their troubles. Moreover, the passage emphasizes God's closeness to the brokenhearted and those who are crushed in spirit, signifying His compassion and willingness to save. 

Key Lessons from Psalm 34:17-18:

God Hears the Cries of the Righteous:

The righteous, those who are in right relationship with God, are encouraged to cry out to Him in times of trouble, knowing that He hears their prayers and responds. 

God Delivers from Trouble:

God is not just a listener but an active deliverer, rescuing those who call on Him from all their troubles and afflictions. 

God is Near to the Brokenhearted:

This verse speaks to the Lord's compassion for those who are suffering emotionally. He is not distant or unconcerned with their pain, but is actively present and ready to offer comfort and healing. 

God Saves the Crushed in Spirit:

Those who feel defeated, discouraged, or broken by life's circumstances can find hope in God's promise to save them. This highlights God's mercy and willingness to restore those who are humbled and repentant. 

Humility and Dependence on God:

The psalm suggests that acknowledging our need for God and approaching Him with a contrite spirit are essential for receiving His help and deliverance. 

In essence, Psalm 34:17-18 provides comfort and encouragement for believers to turn to God in times of distress, knowing that He is both attentive and actively involved in their lives. Jeremiah 30:8

For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts; When the time is come for Jacob to be saved out of his trouble: [that] I will break his yoke from off thy neck;

not the yoke of the king of Babylon, but of antichrist, and of all the antichristian states, by whom the people of God have been oppressed; so the Targum,

``I will break the yoke of the peoples (the antichristian nations) from off your necks.''

Jarchi interprets it of the yoke of the nations of the world from off Israel; and Kimchi of the yoke of Gog and Magog, or of every nation: and will burst thy bonds; by which they were kept in bondage, both with respect to civil and religious things; but now he that led into captivity shall go into captivity himself, ( Revelation 13:10 ) ; and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him; this shows that this prophecy cannot be understood of deliverance from the Babylonish captivity; because, after this, strangers did serve themselves of the Jews, and they were servants unto them; as to the Persians, and Grecians, and especially the Romans, by whom they were entirely subdued and ruined; and to this day all nations almost serve themselves of them; but when they shall be called and converted, as they shall be free from the yoke of sin and Satan, and from the yoke of the ceremonial law, and the traditions of their elders, in a religious sense; so from the yoke of the nations of the world, in a civil sense.May the Lord deliver and liberat you dear friend.

PSALM31:1--5.

Psalm 31:1-5 is a prayer of David expressing trust in God during a time of distress. He asks for deliverance from enemies, seeking refuge and protection in God, whom he identifies as his rock and fortress. David commits his spirit into God's hands, demonstrating faith in God's faithfulness and redemption. 

Key Themes and Meanings:

Trust in God:

The core message is David's complete trust in God as his refuge and protector. He acknowledges God as his rock and fortress, emphasizing his reliance on God's strength and security. 

Prayer for Deliverance:

David's prayer is a plea for deliverance from his enemies and the troubles they cause. He asks for God's intervention and rescue, highlighting the urgency of his situation. 

Commitment of Spirit:

The phrase "Into your hands I commit my spirit" (Psalm 31:5) is a powerful expression of faith and surrender. Some Bible commentaries say it signifies David entrusting his life and well-being entirely to God's care. 

God's Righteousness:
