LENTEN Reflection day 22: New life by Grace.

What is new life in God's kingdom like?

New life by Grace
Yesterday we learn't that we become new citizens in God's kingdom by confessing our rebellion aganist Him and trusting in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of our sins. When we believe in Jesus Christ, His Spirit makes us alive again. We are born again as a new person and the old person we were has passed away. 2 Corinthians 5:17. After accepting Jesus as our Lord, we have a new identity as children of the king and a new culture as citizens of His kingdom.

HOW ARE WE TO LIVE AS NEW PEOPLE (Ephesians 4:17--32) we put off the old self and out on the new self. Our old self was without understanding of God, and our hearts were hard toward Him. As new people in the kingdom we are to on a new self which is in the likeness of God.Our new self is characterised by a renewed mind, believing and speaking truth to our neighbours not sinning in anger. Working hard to provide for our selves and families. Living as a new person is a gradual process of change over time. So how do we begin to live like a new person in God's kingdom?

1.New beliefs. Object old beliefs that are deceitful and take on a new life whicn are true and right. Learn to depend on God to help us walk in the new life Galatians 2:20. By faith we must believe that our old ways of life is dead and gone and that we have a new way of life because Christ lives in us. Depend on God to help u put off and put on. In this Lent put off garbage and put on righteousness.

2. New actions. We have an active role to play 1Timothy 4:7 . As a new citizen try to practice living differently than we did before. Work hard to develope new habits and train our selves to put old habits aside. 2peter 1:5. In this season of LENT how different are you? What bad habit do u need to put off Ephesians 4:24. As a child of God put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and Holiness.
